Ibiza Medieval Fair 2023: a trip back in time

The Eivissa Medieval is an annual event held in the walled city of Dalt Vila, a historic area that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.

This fair, which takes place over several days, recreates medieval life and culture, and offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the island's history and enjoy a wide range of themed activities and entertainment.

Today, we tell you everything you need to know to enjoy it to the fullest!

Origins of the Medieval Fair

The Ibiza Medieval Fair has its origins in the Middle Ages, when the island was an important commercial and cultural enclave in the Mediterranean Sea.

During this period, the city of Dalt Vila was a fortified centre of trade and defence, with a rich mix of cultures and a thriving economy.

The medieval fair is inspired by this time and seeks to recreate the atmosphere and daily life of the Middle Ages in Ibiza.

Doesn't that sound interesting?

What to do at the Ibiza medieval fair 2023

This spectacular event takes place on the second weekend of May, and this year you can go from 11 to 14 included.

4 days full of activities, fun and history... Don't miss anything!

The street market

Dalt Vila was built as a small fortified citadel, with countless squares and bastions, with incredible views of the sea and the new city.

During these days you will find throughout the main streets various craft stalls, toys, jelly beans, clothes...

All always with the wonderful charm of the time, transmitted through the decoration and clothes of the merchants, which are not limited only to one culture: Arabs, Phoenicians and Christians lived in harmony in Ibiza.

Food

medieval food

We move a little away from modern traditions to go back to ancient times.

One of the main reasons that pushes us year after year to return are, precisely, the food stalls .

You can enjoy all kinds of flavours, such as tea from Arab tents, kebabs, octopus and grilled meat, handmade drinks, sausages and sweet desserts.

4 days of pampering the palate! Are you going to miss it?

Exhibitions, activities and things not to be missed

There's a lot to see.

The highlights are always the medieval theatres, the falconry stand, the forge, the archery and the demonstration of Arabic dances.

If you are lucky, you can even come across the geese shepherd and the fantastic creatures that sometimes roam the streets of Dalt Vila.

Every year is different, so we recommend that you keep an eye out for publications by Ibiza City Council.

Dare to embark on this journey back in time!

We hope we have convinced you to visit the Eivissa Medieval 2023.
